Take Control of Your Schedule & Grow Your Business
Are you struggling to find the time to do the work you need to do to…..in order to move your business forward? Do you find yourself spending too much time doing mundane office stuff?
In this video I will show you how to create more time and freedom for yourself…so you can spend more time doing what needs to be done to move the needle.
If you want to grow your business you need to be spending more time creating products/services, building content, forecasting, and focusing on your company’s long-term strategy.
The first thing you need to do is prioritize what is really important to your business, and only focus on the higher value stuff. This includes the work you are amazing at doing, the stuff you actually WANT to do, and the stuff that will really move the needle for your business.
Spending your time on $12-hour projects is a waste of your time….you can hire an assistant for that.
Once you allocate your time more effectively I suggest you stay ahead of the curve and constantly be re-evaluating where it is being spent.
A trick I use to keep me on track is taking a good honest look at my calendar….and then I block out time to do my most important work. This forces me to be very intentional with my time.
Your best time to do this might be early in the morning, mid-day, or late in the evening…it doesn’t matter…you just need to find a time that works best for you.
You need to be militant about this. Don’t let other people’s agenda interfere with your creative time. Also, no email, Facebook, or cell phone activity allowed. I would even advise you to turn your cellphone off…or put it on Airplane Mode or Do Not Disturb Mode.
The key is to shut out the world and focus on what is important to you.
If you aren’t doing this, then you are setting yourself up for some pretty shitty days filled with boring, low-level work that doesn’t advance your biggest priorities.
So go ahead and block out time for the stuff that really matters. You will see massive improvements in your business and you will start enjoying your work even more.
At the end of the day, that’s why you’re doing this…right?
You really like what you do…So be intentional with your time and you’ll have a blast watching your business Grow!
Thank you for hitting the nail on the head with this short video. Great job.
Thanks, Charisse!
I thought I was the only one who referred to email as being distracted by other people’s agenda, lol.
Good, solid, to-the-point advice, Josh.
Email is one of the worst distractions! People fire off emails without thinking, and without opening, you don’t know if they’re important or not. The curiosity is what get’s me.
Thanks Josh and all for the quick reminder.
Grateful for each of you, Linda S Brewer 864.205.2518
Thanks for watching, Linda. You know we appreciate you too!
This was a very informative video. My best time to brainstorm about getting traffic to my site is early in the morning on the weekends. I carry a pen and pad around to jot down ideas if I am not close to the computer
Weekend mornings are definitely a time when you can count on being interrupted less. Entrepreneurs are the only ones working then, right?
