What is preventing you from stepping out in the marketplace and Boldly proclaiming “YES I am a leader in my industry”…What is holding you back from telling people that you are the Authority in your field?

The Answer…your Mindset.

I made this video because I saw too many business owners pussyfooting around and telling themselves that they were not leaders in their respective fields.

It’s time people stopped doing this.

They need to shift their Mindset and just go out there and just tell the marketplace that they are the Authority in their market. They need to let everyone know that they are The Best In The World at what they do.

For example, some people think I help business owners with LinkedIn services….No I don’t…My company is the #1 company in the world when it comes to helping business owners grow, specifically using LinkedIn.”

Rather than saying “I am just an IT consultant”…plant your flag and tell people you are a leader in the IT field. You have nothing to lose.

When you do this people are going to take notice and your business is going to GROW.

If you don’t believe you are a leader in the marketplace, just put those insecurities aside because if you don’t….somebody else will take potential or current business away from you. This is exactly what you don’t want to happen.

It is time to be BOLD and let the market know that “You are here and you are the authority!”

There is no better day than today to plant your flag and let people know you are a leader in your market. When you take this step you will see Amazing things happen for your business.

So start today…the time is NOW.

If you need help with the tactical aspect of exactly how to do this….just comment below and I will help you anyway I can.

How do I go about telling people I am the best in the world at what i do?

This is very timely for me.

For example, I have been nominated for an award through Chamber of commerce recently. Specifically, the People’s Choice Award through the Chamber of Commerce Calgary’s small business awards. I have also been nominated for 2 other awards that will be announced over the next few weeks.

I am not sure how to market this to the city of Calgary. Do you have template letter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for the idea!!
    Sincerely,

    Dean Kendall

Excellent tidbits, Josh. We almost always behave consistently with our self-image. I believe that a profession in sales is first and foremost that of a thinking person. Success is choosing to be confident; it is also choosing to become the subject matter expert in your own environment. An extensive knowledge of the market and the product, coupled with a confident selling attitude and the willingness to break one’s self-imposed barrier seems to be the key! Thank you for your blog!

Love this! Just say, “I am becoming the best in my field.” This is great to say to yourself as an affirmation and also something to share with your prospects when you are not quite ready to claim yourself as THE expert in your field, yet. And as you said, Josh, if you don’t take that stand, someone else is and they are taking business away from you!! Great share!!!

I agree with what you are saying but I newer new how to be a good marketer and promote my self to clients. I’m a car sales person and was in this industry for about 9 years. No one ever showed me how to do it right. I was digging online for any answers. The question always was: How do I get constant none stop traffic of clients going my direction. I’m following up, send birthday cards, trying to stay in touch on Facebook, trying to figure out how to contact people with LinkedIn. What can you do to help me grow my business? I always wanted to be the best. Thank you kindly in advance.

To be candid, we don’t do any work in the b2c automotive market. But I’ll take a stab at it. 🙂 The question for you is what can you do to differentiate yourself from everybody else in your market in a meaningful way? Pushing out content about car sales is not going to interest many people. They will tune it out. But what if you created a community and content around your local area? Keep people apprised of cool things going on, business happenings, fun family events in your area, local news, etc. You could create a facebook group/community focused on these topics, and by being the leader…people will come to know you. And then when they are in the market for a car, you will be one of the people they think of. So many people make the mistake of talking about themselves all the time. What works much better is to talk about the things your prospects actually care about.

  • Josh! you are the man! So many precious advice and recommendations. I am following you and congratulations!

  • Bold is tough. But bold is necessary. I learned that from someone at a conference, and he totally changed the way I present myself.
There is still a way for me to go, but reminders – like this video – help a lot.
    Thank you!

It can be tough. I’m not sure it ever gets “easy” but when you do it enough, it does become “the way.” Thanks Lauren!
